We've had so many amazing events this year. We have certainly been blessed. We loved being at Rebecca's graduation for her Master's Degree at UCLA in June. Congratulations again Rebecca! We also loved her open house (the final event of the "roadshow" wedding) in Idaho. We had a fun time going back to Idaho and stopping at Bear World with Heather, Ethan, Allison, Dave and Becca. Bear World never fails to amuse us. The open house was fantastic. I loved this picture of Becca in Reiley's windows.
Our Idaho friends are surely among the best people in the world. We are so grateful for their lifetime support of our family and loved being able to see them all again. Bob and Lynda Reiley were amazing. Their yard was a beautiful place for the open house. They worked hard to make everything wonderful for us and succeeded beyond our expectations. Now we are looking forward to Dave and Becca's baby boy arriving in December.
Speaking of babies, our
lives right now our filled with Lilli. We are tending her while Andrea teaches part-time. Andi will work every Monday and Tuesday and every other Friday. We had a couple of practice sessions last week and it was just pure fun. Lilli even took a bottle. Actually she took two bottles at once. She drank everything we had to feed her. We took this picture of her first day of baby-sitting. She smiles and coos and is really developing her cute little personality.Ethan and Allison started school last week. Ethan is in 3rd grade and Allison is int 1st grade. This week Ashlin starts Kindergarten. How we wish we could be with them on these special days.
Last Tuesday Robert had his infusion for his arthritis. He is feeling much better than he was a few months ago. The infusion combined with his other medications is helping. He went to Idaho to see some of his friends a couple of weeks ago. He left at 5:00 AM, drove to Jackson Hole, golfed 27 holes, drove to Victor and went fishing, got up the next morning and went fishing again and drove home that night. Ah! That's the Robert we all love! Easy to see why the kids called him the Energizer Bunny! I was happily lazing around home while he was bustling around the streams and gof course.
We seem to have inherited the CTR7 class at church. We were called as Primary substitutes but have been teaching this class regularly for the last couple of weeks. Friday a member of the bishopric called and asked if we'd teach them for the rest of the year. He sort of wanted us to give up the "substitute" classification but Robert resisted and so we're just permanent substitutes in this class until December. It's OK with us. We really like this group. There are 17 children on the roll, but we usually have about 10. They're pretty lively but very fun. One Sunday the Primary President came in to teach them a sharing time. When she was finished she asked the children if they would all be in church the next Sunday to do the sharing time. One little boy, Ethan Hatch, said, "I don't know if I'll be here or not. I don't know what my parents are going to do with me next week. I can't predict the future."
One more thing. Just have to mention our two family reunions in July and say thanks to everyone who helped make it happen. We enjoyed the Charlton family reunion at Kevin's Country Club pool (Willow Creek). The Pitts reunion was at Brent and Tanya's house. Thanks to them for hosting and thanks to Sharon for providing all the delicious food. The only downside to all of this was that we missed having Shawn and family there for all these things. Arkansas is just foo far away! We love them and missed them at every event.
