Baby Jeron arrived on Friday, February 2 at 8:45 PM and weighed 7 lbs 12 oz. He’s a beautiful baby. I had a great week with all of them and returned home on Wednesday, February 7 at 11:30 PM. I got to see Sharon in the airport as she came in to help for her week. We got a quick hug and then I had to board my plane.

On Thursday Robert completed his coursework to renew his psychologist’s license. On Friday he went to the all zone session at the temple. This was the reward for the mission exceeding their goal of 1000 baptisms last year. Saturday was Zone Conference. Robert left early with Brother Eckman. Eckman’s wife is still in Alaska with her daughter and Eckman had a baptism scheduled. So Robert, Steve and Rosie all went to the baptism with him so they could get out of Zone Conference. The morning was interesting but after lunch gets really dull. The morning training went 3 ½ hours without a break. Not many senior couples enjoy that level of fanaticism.

Sunday was church and rescue Alma day. The Superbowl was less than spectacular. Maybe that’s why poor Gilbert got drunk. Actually, he was supposed to be watching his mother’s store of supplies (liquor she buys in Show Low) and got to sampling the product a little too much. He got abusive with Alma so she called and wanted a ride back to her apartment. Her finally communiqué for the night was a phone call in which she told Robert that she was going to Phoenix with her mother and Gilbert was going with them. Go figure.

Monday he washed and cleaned the trailer and did some studying. Tuesday was golf day with Steve. Wednesday he picked me up in Phoenix and Thursday we visited Grant and Donna Chandler before starting home. Grant has some serious health problems and has been told he only has about 2 more years. But he was in good spirits and we enjoyed them. They took us to lunch at Chili’s. We also picked up 2 beds for Irene at DI, came home just as the Elders came in so fixed dinner for them and then taught another temple prep lesson to Dion and Verbena.
