January 30, 2007

This morning we were up at 4:30 to go to the airport. Robert went back to the motel and slept a little more then went to 2 Deseret Industries stores in Phoenix to find furniture for Irene. He got a black, vinyl loveseat and sofa. He said it rained a little on them, but not too much. By the time he got home and found someone to help unload the furniture it was probably 7:00. Long day for him. He also did some shopping. It made me very nervous to leave Robert alone and unsupervised in Phoenix. He bought a new telelvision for the bedroom as the little one that was in the trailer when we arrived finally died. It died a little at a time, first the VCR player and finally the TV. It was weird, though. It would turn on and then turn off again in like 5 seconds. We couldn’t find any way to make it stay on. So now we have a new one and Robert says it’s actually big enough that he can see the people on it. The other one was so small we only knew we were watching Jay Leno because we recognized his voice.

Meanwhile, I was on my way to Arkansas. All my flights were on time and everything went very smoothly. We were delayed about 30 minutes in Dallas, but that was OK. Shawn picked me up in Little Rock and we went right back to Conway. The house is darling. Shawn and Veda have fixed it up so it’s even cuter than the first time we saw it.

We went to Cracker Barrel for an early dinner then in the interest of stimulating labor drove back to Little Rock. The other reason was to get a new battery for my cell phone. Shawn said the batteries that were in my Verizon phone and Cade’s and Shawn’s were all bad and Verizon would replace it for free. They did. That part of the trip was a great success. The stimulating labor part…well, we’ll see what happens tomorrow.

Conway is cold and windy today.
