Church, of course. Robert made the pick-up run, but only found one person to bring. That was Jared Ivins, and he got him out of bed. Robert taught Sunday School, with no advance notice because President Bonito needed to interview Abbitt Ivins. This is the man who got married last week. He was sustained and ordained to the Aaronic Priesthood today, so hopefully his wife, Tamara, will be baptized next week. I went to Primary completely unprepared and really enjoyed it. We had about 10 children there.

After church we looked forward to a nice rest. Why do we do that? We’ve been here long enough to know it never works out. Just as I was getting comfy Maxine Bonito came in. She stayed for about an hour. She started talking about her cousin who was murdered. I said, “This is the cousin you told me about last week.” She said, “No, this is my other cousin. The first cousin was stabbed and this cousin was shot.” Everyone here on the rez has so much tragedy in their lives.

When President Bonito finished at the church he came over and they both stayed for about another half hour. They were gone about 20 minutes when a white couple knocked on our door. They were from Queen Creek and were looking for Elder Miller. He baptized their 14-year-old son, and they just wanted to see him. They stayed and talked for over an hour, then drove to Clay Springs where they happened to find Elder Miller at the church.

Finally we got our dinner, did some washing and packed for our California trip.
