Snowflake here we come! We headed out again first thing this morning to get more stuff for Christmas boxes and a food order.

This food order was a new experience. Nice to know that after 15 months there are still new experiences awaiting us here in Cibecue. This order was for a family the Elders met. They’re not members, but it’s a single mother with 4 children and they asked President Bonito if we could help with some food. Monday we stopped by her house to fill out the food order but she was just leaving. Tuesday we stopped again and she wasn’t home. We told her oldest daughter to have her come over to our place to fill out the order because if we didn’t get it today we wouldn’t be able to until next Tuesday. She never came. So this morning we gave it one more try. She was still in bed at 9:30 and her daughter told us to wait up while she woke her mother so they could get the food. We stood in the kitchen filling out the order and the poor woman had such a hangover that even talking to her was hurting her head, because she kept putting her hand on the side of her head like she was trying to hold it together. She also kept squinting and trying her best to clear up the blur so she could read the food order paper, but we don’t think she had a clue what she actually ordered.

The ride up the canyon was beautiful with the new snow on the trees and our Christmas music playing in the truck. The pavement was bare so there were no driving problems. The people at the Bishop’s Storehouse were so delighted to have finished our orders that they sang “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” to Robert as he left. We think after he got out the door they added “And don’t come back till next year.” We’re about as popular at this storehouse as we were at the Rexburg Deseret Industries when we moved. We’re just kidding (we think). They’re always very nice and asked if we could take extra turkeys and if we have anyone else they can get food for. We hope not.

After delivering all the food we came back and fixed two big pans of lasagna for Thelma’s family tonight. She had one of her back treatments and always comes home in so much pain we didn’t want her to have to fix dinner. Robert took the dinner over while I changed clothes and as soon as he got back we picked up Byron and Juliet and took them to Snowflake. The Stake President called Byron to be the Elders’ Quorum President. He was very excited and full of enthusiasm and plans for the Branch. They are the cutest couple. Did we already say that he has done all of his brother’s Temple Work?

Yesterday Bro Wilcock called and said we had to take Rochelle and Jared Ivins with us tonight. He said the Stake President needs to sign their recommend to go with their parents tomorrow night to be sealed. Robert didn’t think the Stake President needed to sign a youth recommend, just the Branch President. So we called the temple and they said Robert is right. This morning he called the Stake President and told him what the temple said, so he said we can go by whatever they say at the temple and we didn’t have to bring them. I was kind of sorry because if we had taken them I couldn’t have gone and would have had a very pleasant evening home alone crocheting. Robert says that wouldn’t have happened because he would have driven the Beast.
