March 25, 2007

Today was the first Fast Sunday dinner for us here in CBQ. The residents say they used to have them, but stopped…guess when…when Hellmans left. So we re-instituted the tradition and it was very nice. We cooked roast, and a big pan of potatoes, and made gravy. Besides that the members brought fry bread (Dad and I have yet to eat a piece of fry bread at one of our own dinners…it’s always gone by the time we finish serving.) We also had 2 fruit salads, a lovely cake, my Monster Cookies (they ate them all…all 800 or something like that), and corn. As the last person came through the line we dished up the last spoonful of potatoes. I thought how lucky it was that we had just enough for the number of people there. Then I realized I’ve thought that same thought at every dinner we’ve had here. Hmmm….how many times can such a coincidence randomly occur? Certainly makes one wonder, doesn’t it?

At 5:00 Byron and Shauna came for a Temple Class. Now we have 4 getting ready for the April 21 temple date. Shauna has been a member for just one year.

At the dinner we sat by a couple the Elders have been teaching. Abbitt and Tamera plan to get married June 2, then she wants to be baptized. He is already a member. They started asking Robert questions about the temple. They came to church 2 weeks ago when all the people talked about going to the temple and said they were really impressed with that meeting. Now they said they want to work to go to the temple too. This little temple project is having some amazing ripple effects.
