We’re 7 for 7. All 7 of our people now have their temple clothes. We took Murphy and Cheryl to Snowflake today. Ricky went along for a “joyride” as he put it. And of course they took the baby, Timmy. When we left we still hadn’t heard from Fernando and Roma, but our faith was rewarded. About 8 miles outside of Snowflake they called our cell and said they were just behind us. Yesterday when we talked to Roma we first tried to find her at home, then went up to the high school where she works. No one was around but a custodian, so we asked her and she took us right to where Roma was and we talked to her there. Maybe she decided today that the only way to get rid of us is to actually get this done.
So we had 4 people at this little tiny distribution center all getting all their clothes for the temple. The workers were very sweet, as were other customers who came in. After all our purchases we went to a little town called Linden, to Bro and Sis Wilcock’s home. They had fixed a delicious stew and had bread and cookies for everyone. Sis Wilcock is going to hem Murphy’s pants and Cheryl’s dress. Lucky for them. If they’d expected me to do it…well, everyone knows the end of that sentence. Also lucky for them they got something to eat, because our day was just beginning, not ending.
While we’re eating lunch Cheryl says I need to stop in Show Low and buy some beads from “this lady.” She handed me a card with the lady’s address and it was clear up in Lakeside. We were in a hurry by now to get back for Scouts, so she changed her mind and said we could get the beads at the Anasazi Trading Post, also almost to Lakeside, but at least we knew where this place is. Bless Cheryl’s heart…she always has a stop to make. But this time we were blessed that she did, because when we got there we had a flat tire. We called AAA and had to wait over an hour for them to arrive. There was nowhere to walk to for people to get something to eat or shop a little while they waited, so we all just sat there in front of the trading post. To everyone’s credit there was absolutely no complaining or whining, except for Robert and Linda. It was after 8:00 when we finally got back to Cibecue, and poor Robert still had to take scouts home. What a day!
While we were driving this afternoon Elder Meeks called. It was so fun to hear from him. He was excited about the temple day and everyone in the truck said hello to him.
We are so excited that everyone has their clothes.
Despite the rumors, I don't live here anymore
