Saturday we finally got a stay-at-home day. It was rainy and stormy and we never left the trailer, except for Robert who filled our mugs. I scrapbooked all day, and Robert read. Nobody called or came over. Heavenly.

Sunday the LDS Employment Center in Snowflake sent their director to speak in Sacrament meeting. He gave a great talk. This was the last talk he’ll give as he and his wife are leaving in a few weeks to serve a mission in Charlotte, North Carolina, doing the same thing he’s been doing here.

Abbitt gave the lesson in Sunday School. He was very nervous but he told everyone that last Sunday when Robert asked him to do this he had a very warm feeling and knew that it was something he wanted to do. Robert said he did a good job.

The Elders scheduled Holyan’s baptism for 6:30 tonight, but we cancelled because there was a severe thunderstorm warning and flash flood watch for Cibecue. When we drove over to tell them Pres Bonito thought we should cancel they were all ready (that was a first) and the whole family was standing in the driveway waiting to go. They were so disappointed. We felt really bad about canceling. The storm never really hit here, but we don’t know what the roads were like and felt it was best not to go when we’re transporting people from the mission.

It was Faith Bonito’s 9th birthday today, so when the baptism was cancelled Bonitos invited us over to have dinner with them. She made tacos and enchiladas and had a little birthday cake. They’ll have the real party later. It was fun to talk with them. We put together a gift with a CTR necklace, some Bath and Body lotion and body wash, and a bag of snack size Snickers. She seemed genuinely pleased.
