Tuesday
What a crazy day this turned out to be. Our original plan was to leave first thing for Tucson, but we ended up going clear to Snowflake to pick up 3 food orders, bring them back to Cibecue, and then leave. When we got back to Cibecue Bill and Shon, the FM guys, were here flushing vinegar through the water lines in an effort to clear out all the minerals that keep clogging up our water supply. I came in and packed while Robert delivered the food orders. One of the reasons we went today was that Cheryl told us they had no food in the house and all the kids were hungry. When Robert got there, they had a bunch of relatives at the house and they were all sitting around enjoying a big spaghetti dinner. So much for no food in the house, right? We finally got to Tucson about 4:00. Sharon had left an anniversary card with her neighbor and they had put it in the house for us. What a nice surprise.

Wednesday
Robert’s lung function test was at 8:00 AM. What a nightmare for the poor guy. He was in an enclosed, glass booth and the guy kept yelling at him, “Breathe in! Breathe out! Keep pushing out! Now take a big breath in!” The test was all timed on the computer so he had to do everything exactly when the technician said, all with a big mouthpiece in his mouth and a clip on his nose blocking off any air that might sneak in through his nostrils. He finally passed and for undergoing all this received a certificate of completion with balloons on it. Sweet!

His reward was that he couldn’t eat anything until after the CT Scan. We went back to Sharon’s and sat by the pool for a while. That was really nice. It was blistering hot (114) but the pool and sunshine felt good. At 2:40 he had the CT Scan. That was easy. He was in and out in 15 minutes and didn’t even have to take off his shoes. Finally got a nice reward for all his work…dinner at Black Angus and we saw “Live Free or Die Hard.” We both liked the movie a lot.

Happy Anniversary to us today! We were married 38 years ago. We talked to all of our kids and enjoyed counting our blessings all day. We love our family so much. We have been blessed with wonderful children, children-in-law, and grandchildren. We also have a wonderful extended family. Thanks to all of you for your love and support.

Thursday
This was the real reward for all Robert’s work. The Pulmonologist gave him a clean bill of health. He said the spots on his lungs are no more than most of us have if we’ve ever had bronchitis or pneumonia. The lung function test was normal, and so was the CT Scan. So there apparently is no effect from taking the Methotrexate and he didn’t feel any of the spots were from arthritis.

We spent more time at the pool today, ate dinner at Olive Garden, and came back to Ray and Sharon’s and watched a video. We also took a little tour of Tucson, and found a nice Coldwater Creek where Robert felt he should buy me a nice new outfit for all the trauma I’ve experienced these last few days. Oh, wait! It was Robert who experienced all the trauma. How come I got a new outfit?

Friday
We saw Dr. Walsh at 12:00 today. She wants Robert to stay on Paquenil for a while and not use Methotrexate. She also wants to cut back on the Prednasone slowly and see if he can get along without that and she wants him to stop taking Allupurinol. We go back in 2 months for more blood tests. We really like Dr. Walsh. She’s very thorough and very informative.

We spent an hour at the pool before the appointment, then went back to the Foothills Mall for a while, had dinner at Red Lobster, then left and got back to Cibecue about 9:00.
