The Elders, when they arrived on Monday, told us that they were out of miles for their car this month and would have to walk around town. Being kind-hearted, Robert volunteered to shepherd them among the flock. This resulted in his day being one again where my truck became the primary purpose of being here in the mission field. The truck performed admirably and the Elders performed their duties giving lessons to two young men who are in our scout troop and providing support to many other families.

Their success in getting OYM’s was somewhat limited in that tomorrow is payday, when the welfare checks will arrive at the post office, so business there today was meager at best. The highlight of the day came when we stopped to drop a book off at Byron’s and he asked for a blessing. After the blessing we discussed his feelings of being heavily influenced by Satan. He understands that he is in the middle of a battle for his spiritual welfare. We discussed our impressions of his challenges and encouraged him to continue to pray, read the scriptures and attend church. We emphasized that his struggle was only beginning and that the dreams and visions he’s been given by Heavenly Father were to prepare him. In his blessing Robert told him that he was to become a great leader in the church here in Cibecue through his faithfulness. He certainly has the potential to be a branch president if he would only apply himself. It’s not often that you see an Apache cry, but many tears were shed. As you may recall, it was his brother who killed himself a year ago and his memorial dinner is coming soon. He dreamed he saw his brother in spirit prison where he was taking lessons preparing himself to move on. He also had a dream where he saw himself within the walls of what he considered to be Heavenly Father’s kingdom, embracing his brother. Robert suggested this was Heavenly Father showing him what could be if he could get his act together. Appointments were made with him by the missionaries to start teaching the gospel essentials to him and his wife plus we will start temple lessons next month.

Upon arriving home Linda had prepared a delicious supper waiting on the table. We had ten minutes to eat before our ARP group was to start. Our attendance is holding steady at 0. The good news is that the Elders got to take home all the cinnamon rolls we were saving for the group.

(Can you guess which one of us wrote the Blog tonight?)

My vote's on Robert.. Some of the wording wasn't quite Linda. :) especially "my truck" The end sounded like her though. Did you both work on it?

My vote goes with Papa as well. "my truck" gave it away. As well as the comments about Linda's dinner. Linda is a wonderful cook! But, I have never heard her give herself a compliment. Speaking of cooking, you think you could overnight some fudge. Oh wait.....the Charlton diet never mind. I can dream.
