We had the Women’s Health homemaking meeting today. Pat Madsen, the public health nurse at the clinic, came and she had a great presentation. We had 15 people attend. I was afraid no one would come on a Saturday, but it was a pretty good attendance and everyone participated and asked questions. In fact, they asked her to come again so we have her scheduled for February 21.

As soon as homemaking was over I changed my clothes and we picked up Paula and Pauline, Debbra and Juliet and went to Show Low for a baptism. We forgot to say that last night at the basketball game we scheduled a baptism. We already had Debbra and Brandy ready, and then we saw Paul and Pauline. We’ve been trying for several months to get Pauline baptized, so when we saw them Robert immediately went over and asked if they wanted to be include today. President Bonito was also there, so we could get his permission. Nothing like a basketball game to get some good missionary work done.

The baptism was outstanding. Debbra is the girl we first met when she went to the Women’s Satellite Broadcast with me in October. I had a good visit with her that night and then we sent the Elders to teach her, so she’s the first baptism I found for the Elders. She’s 21 but just graduating from high school this spring. She told us that her boyfriend called her today and asked her to marry him. She said he’s a good guy who is trying to improve his life and would have been at her baptism except he’s in rehab until February 14. They plan to get married February 16. It could work. We are receiving negative energy from all you skeptics out there and we haven’t even published this yet.

Anyway, Elder Wahlquist baptized Debbra. She’s not huge, but she’s a pretty big girl and he had to baptize her four times before he kept her all in the water. Her foot kept coming up. It was Wahlquist’s first baptism. Cecil Ivins baptized Pauline and her cousin, Brandy. They’re both his granddaughters.

After the baptism we went to Dairy Queen and Robert bought everyone hamburgers, then we got home about 9:00. At 9:30 Bonitos came over and stayed until 10:30. Maxine needed to use the computer to register to take her national exam for EMT’s. She finished all her training and just needs to take this test now.

Keegan left this note on our board, “Keegan’s basketball game is on Thursday and it’s Home Game at 4:00 PM. And my birthday is on Friday, January 18, 2008. From: Keegan Bonito”. These are the parts of the mission we’ll miss.
