Best church attendance ever today: 68 people in Sacrament meeting. Maybe it was the spirit of yesterday’s temple trip carrying over. Anyway it was great!

President Bonito really talked a lot about the temple trip. We think he made the kids feel really great, so we were very pleased about that.

Abbitt taught Sunday School. He said that yesterday he went to Show Low to try and buy a car. He couldn’t find anyone who would finance one for him, so he was really discouraged. He said it really upsets him to always be looking for a ride and feel like he’s bothering other people. So he started home and asked his Dad (Cecil) to pull over. He felt so discouraged that he just got out of the car and walked into the trees a little ways. He poured out his heart to Heavenly Father and said he was trying to do what was right. He goes to church and teaches the class and really tries to do what he should. He got back into the truck and just then his cell phone rang. It was one of the car companies saying they had figured out a way to help him get a car and to come back. So he got a car and gave a great lesson on the power of prayer.

Tonight Eric and Jared Ivins came over. They brought us a homemade apple pie. We know Thelma well enough that we’re not afraid to eat it. Eric made it and was pretty proud. Then he talked to Robert for two hours. I sort of drifted in and out a few times. Thank heavens for you family members who were kind enough to call right then.

It’s poured rain all day today and there are flood watches and warnings throughout the state. Hopefully it doesn’t turn to snow for our drive to Phoenix tomorrow. At least we’ll be heading south.
