Besides needing a good rest and having furniture to pick up, we also came to Phoenix on a quest for some things we wanted to buy to take home. It was a successful quest, but only after driving out to Bass Pro Shop and two malls, Chandler Fashion Center and Fiesta Mall. Let’s just say that the people who attended the Super Bowl last weekend must have been in a buying mood. One store even said someone purchased the “sandwich sign” outside the store advertising that they had Super Bowl merchandise inside.

We had fun driving around Phoenix, partly because it’s Saturday so there wasn’t a lot of traffic. And partly because it’s fun to know our way around a little better. The 101 was closed so we couldn’t use the road we usually use to go to Bass Pro Shop. It was nice to know an alternative route without having to get the map out. We’re actually beginning to like Phoenix. Heather says that’s a sure sign that we need to go home.

Now we’re back in Cibecue safe and sound. The Elders have started a countdown on our marker board. They left a note that said “keep up the countdown” and another note that said, “Thanks for letting us eat your food! I made breakfast and used 7 eggs and some ham (Sister Charlton was gone and we were hungry. Hope the valley was fun! Elder Lindsey.” We actually got home and got everything delivered before dark.
