Dec 19

December 19, 2006

We were afraid this last day before we leave would be crazy and we were certainly not disappointed. All good, but very busy. We got up at 6:00 AM and it’s now 7:30 PM. We haven’t even stopped to eat and still have another half hour to stay for ARP, and another family to visit before we can pack.

We delivered about 25 Christmas cards around the town this morning. While we were doing that Alma called. Famisha was sick again during the night, so they had gone to the clinic and needed a ride home. We picked her up and stopped to visit another member when we dropped her off.

At lunchtime we picked up Faith and Keegan Bonito. Robert fixed lunch for them and for the Elders while I got Faith and Keegan started making table runners. The table runner project is now history for this year. I’m not making another one. But Faith and Keegan had so much fun making theirs it was worth doing it one more time.

There was a community dinner tonight and they needed to borrow the church’s tables and chairs. This time Bonito had given permission so we shouldn’t get in trouble with him. But they hadn’t come when it was time to give away our bags we made last week, so Robert went with the Elders to do that and I stayed home to supervise the chair/table pick up. He said the Elders got 17 OYM’s in 15 minutes and the bags were all gone. We should do that again next year only make up lots of bags.

While Robert was with the Elders they also cast the devil out of 2 homes and 1 person. Serious! Hope it works. We have enough problems without him inhabiting people and places around here.

Then we went to the community dinner. We took 2 steps inside and Robert offered to go get more chairs for them. So back home we went for chairs. Of course the dinner was late starting so we couldn’t stay to get any food.

Once again no one showed up for ARP but didn’t really expect it because of the dinner.

Can’t wait to be on our way to California tomorrow!
