Wednesday was the Family Symposium at the gym. They had 107 people come through the groups. It was really quite fun.

Afterwards we left immediately for Tucson and were there until Saturday. We had a wonderful visit with Sharon and Ray and saw their adorable condo. Robert had his checkup with the new rheumatologist. She ordered x-rays of his hands, feet and chest, which we had done the same day we saw her. She also ordered several blood tests (they took 4 vials of blood). We are going back in June to get all the results. Meanwhile she added a new medicine for him to start taking, along with what he’s already taking for the arthritis. She seemed very thorough and was willing to explain things to us. I think we’ll like her.

Friday night we went to the Institute at University of Arizona and saw a play written and directed by Jennifer May’s husband, Devin Toma. Saturday morning we went to their house and visited with Mike and Janice. Jennifer and Devin are moving to Gainesville, Virginia, so it was the only time we could see them in Tucson.

We arrived home at 3:45, changed our clothes and went to a wedding that started at 4:00 at the Assembly of God church. Pastor Frawley jokingly told Robert not to take pictures of the people because we might use the pictures to steal his members. We only went to this wedding to see Faith and Ariel, who were flower girls. They were adorable, of course. We found out this morning that during the reception, which we did not attend, Maxine loaned their truck to a relative and it got wrecked. Poor Maxine was so upset.

Today was Branch Conference. Of course since two representatives of the Stake Primary Presidency came to visit one of our dear little boys had to treat us to the first swear word I’ve had in Primary. And of course it had to be the f… word. Oh, well, the ladies were sweet and kind and did sharing time for me. What a break!

Betty Lee got her temple recommend today while the Stake President was here and Byron Henry was interviewed to receive the Melchizedek priesthood in preparation for attending the temple.

Linda must make a public confession to the family in order to seek repentance. Today she profaned the sacred chocolate cake recipe. Lynda Reiley said it makes a good white cake if you leave out the cocoa and add 3 T. of flour. So today we tried it, and it does make a good white cake. Nevertheless, we realize that makes it not the family chocolate cake. Please forgive!
