We stayed home all day. Elder Day had a migraine, so he slept all morning, leaving poor Elder Rogers to entertain himself as best he could. We did our share for him. He was sitting at the table and we were in by the TV reading our scriptures. All of a sudden I saw this black spider (huge black spider, by my account, although Robert and Elder Rogers disputed my ability to gauge size) out of the corner of my eye running across the carpet. In my usual self-controlled, calm manner I jumped up and yelled, “Spider, spider! Quick Robert get it!” Robert then also jumped up and did what any well-trained missionary would do, he killed it with his scriptures. Those things aren’t just for reading, you know. Perhaps the spider was converted in his last moments of life. The spider is no doubt on the other side telling how he was “struck with the spirit.” At least we gave Rogers something to chuckle about all afternoon, and when they came back for dinner Elder Day was getting his little laugh out of it, too. We have no idea how many residents of Cibecue might have heard the spider story from them, too.
Robert got engrossed in a book called “Search for the Twelve Apostles” about the original twelve apostles and spent most of the day reading. I spent time getting ready for next Wednesday. Bettina has asked us to be part of a team of presenters at a health conference the clinic is sponsoring. It will be a rotation of 25 minutes, and lasts from 9-2. Robert’s topic is parenting and mine is “positive grandparenting.” Can you believe anyone would actually ask me to talk about my grandkids all day? I can hardly wait. My opening line could be, “My grandchildren are perfect. Now let’s talk about how to fix yours.”
About 4:00 Friday the 13th hit and a good day turned into a very bad day. We were not very happy with each other all night. The details will never be officially recorded. The Elders came back at 6:00 for dinner, so we pretended to be nice long enough to feed them and send them on their way, then proceeded to ruin the rest of the evening. Things are OK today. Robert brought his clothes back in from the front lawn and I gave him back his keys to the trailer. Those wanting a more detailed account will have to read it in our personal journal, since we think there are some rules about posting profanity on the Blog.
Despite the rumors, I don't live here anymore

Oh my! What a fantastic opportunity! You'll be wonderful!
Maybe Dad should offer a class on "retraining your children after a positive grandparenting visit." Just kidding. Really.
