April 23, 2007

Our P-day started with Simpson stopping Robert at the gate as he left for his golfing date with Steve. Simpson wanted him to check on the telephone number for his foster family, Grant and Dorothy Ashcraft in Sugar City, because he had been unable to contact them. When we looked the number up it wasn’t even close to what was listed in the phone book. We gave the number to them over the phone and it must have been written own incorrectly.

About the time Robert reached Carrizzo Murphy called and wanted a ride to Hon Dah. Obviously that couldn’t happen, as Robert was already well on his way to Pinetop. He needed to do something for his rent and naturally called the local taxi service. What else would one do? At least Robert got him the new short-sleeved white shirt he has been wanting.

Yesterday Ricky didn’t come to church. Cheryl said he went to another church. We think he’s mad at us because we don’t do as much for him as he thinks we should. Maxine told me that Hellmans took them all over when they were here. She said President kept telling them they didn’t have to do all that for them, but they did and we don’t, so don’t know what he’ll do. We asked the Elders to stop by tomorrow an talk with him.

Robert did finally get his golf game, but the weather was lousy, as was his score. Something about wind and snow that just don’t facilitate good scores. While he was gone I got all my pictures downloaded to the computer and ordered a bunch. Then I did some scrapbooking and wrote some letters. My scrapbook is going to be filled with pictures of Shawn and Veda’s kids because Veda sends me lots of pictures (hint, hint). Posterity may think they are the only children we had when we served our mission. Since we’re not with anyone, it stands to reason that the only pictures I can scrapbook are those provided by the various members of the family, doesn’t it?

Tonight the Elders are here. We had dinner and now have been challenged to a re-match Scrabble game. They want new rules. They said we can only spell words found in the Book of Mormon, sequentially.

Yeah, that's really weird about you not having a lot of pictures of other grandkids. You'd think parents would be on top of things like pictures and stuff.
