In the midst of our exercising Irene Murphy came by. It was her grandson who was murdered here the night we left for California. She said the Miracle Church was missing some of the chairs they borrowed for the wake and perhaps they had been brought here. Robert checked and found one. Then Irene talked for a long time. She said no one from the church came to the wake or the funeral and no one had even been by to check on her. She also said a lot of her family members failed to help out and she was pretty discouraged. Then we talked about Relief Society and she agreed we need to start some activities. This is a big step since she’s Relief Society president.
While talking to her Robert Ivins called. Interesting, because Robert is her son. He wants to go to the employment center and find a job. Good idea. Robert got him the number and we hope he follows through
About the time we finally got showered and ready for the day the Elders came. So we fixed lunch and talked to them for about 2 hours. They needed us to pick up Megan Day, a 10-year-old who is scheduled for baptism on Saturday. We brought her over to the church for her baptismal interview with Meeks. They do that sometimes if the home is just not a place they can conduct an interview. Elder Charlton and Elder Itri played basketball and Elder C lost in overtime. Itri was impressed. They were shooting foul shots. Meanwhile, Sister C was back in the trailer making rolls for dinner and shooing away 2 children who came to visit. No time, sorry, have to leave in a minute. Which we did. We took Megan back to her grandma’s then went to visit Gilbert and Alma. He seemed genuinely repentant of his misbehavior last Sunday and they seemed happy. The Elders also taught them a lesson.
Earlier in the day we visited Murphy. He needs us to take his electric bill to Show Low. Since it’s not due until the 25th we’re willing. He is preparing to be ordained to the Melchizedek priesthood and while we were gone he blessed the sacrament for the first time in his life.
Had a nice dinner with Itri and Meeks. I fixed a new chicken recipe, cooked the last of the Thanksgiving sweet potatoes, and made rolls. It was pretty good.
Finished up the day with a good episode of CSI. The Elders always play basketball so we’re not denied our little sins on the days they’re here.
Despite the rumors, I don't live here anymore

You know, I'm not sure I'd be happy to see Randy if he got drunk, threw me out of the house, and spent the holidays in prison or running from the police. Call me crazy. More likely he'd be dead and I'd be on my way to Mexico.
Yes, Randy does have strep throat. He and Allison are on antibiotics, I'm probably heading that way, and any family with sick parents and one well child deserves some kind of way to anesthetize the well child so the everyone else gets some rest.
Hope the baptism goes well on Saturday.
