Interviews with President Craig. He and his wife are truly Christlike inviduals. They are always so welcoming and friendly to all of the missionaries.

We had a good interview with him and expressed our concerns about the Elders in Cibecue. He told us a great story about Elder Miller. He said Miller has been talking to him for some time about his twin brother getting his mission papers in. Finally Miller reported that the brother’s papers were turned in recently. The plan is to send the brother on a service mission. Elder Miller told President, “I don’t know why they’d do that. He can serve a mission like me. They said he has mental problems, but he doesn’t. He’s just like me. He could serve a regular mission like I am.” President said Elder Wahlquist has asked him if he thinks Miller realizes that he’s got some limitations. Guess that question got answered. It will be interesting to see what happens this transfer. We think it’s time for Elder Miller to have a new area, and that’s pretty much what we said. But who knows what President will decide to do.

He told us more funny stories, too. He told us the AP’s are currently in big trouble because they were at interviews in another area and went out to lunch with some of the Elders. For starters, they were half an hour late returning, so President called them and said he was leaving. Just as he got ready to make good on his threat they came tearing into the parking lot. To make a bad situation worse, they were driving a pickup and had 6 Elders sitting in the back of the pickup. This was in the Phoenix area and President said it was a very, very busy road they were driving on. He was very angry, even telling us about it. We can’t even imagine what he had to say to our poor Itri.

After interviews we went to lunch with Elder and Sister Lamm from Whiteriver. We really like them and enjoyed lunch. They need someone to talk to and we appreciate their company, so it’s a great relationship. We hope to do more with them in the near future. Right now they’re very discouraged and we have a whole lot of empathy for where they’re at right now. They’re very open and easy to talk to so it’s good for all of us.

Then we went for a walk in the Show Low City Park. We’ve wanted to do that forever and it was very nice. They have a beautiful walkway with information about the trees and shrubs in the area posted all along the walk. We got groceries and gas at Safeway and came home and watched Transformers.

We only got one phone call and that was from Alma. She had lost her cell phone but apparently has a replacement so is back on our list…we won’t be so unkind as to label the list. She wanted a ride from her mother-in-law’s house to her apartment. Robert said no. We have an extinction schedule in place for her.
