Robert’s Interior Design/Moving Van business was on the road again today, although I have to take some credit for this trip. We had planned to take Byron and Juliet with us to pick up a bed for them, but on Thursday she told me they couldn’t go because Byron didn’t get paid and they didn’t have any money. I’m not sure what possessed me, but instead of rejoicing in having an unexpected, unplanned day, I asked her if she wanted us to just go ahead and get the beds ourselves. She looked so relieved and said yes, she would really appreciate that, because she and Byron are sleeping on the couch. So off we went at 7:00 AM.

It hasn’t been all work. We stopped at Superstition Springs Mall and did our walk for the day, then did a little shopping. Then we went to the Bass Pro Shop in Mesa. We’ve wanted to go there before but this is the first time we had the time. We decided to have lunch there and that was a fine decision. They have a restaurant called “Islamadora.” It’s a fish place and the food was wonderful and very reasonable and it’s a cute atmosphere. Pretty upscale for Bass Pro Shop. As we were leaving a lady came in with a huge dog. She became very upset when they told her she couldn’t eat in there with the dog. We were very impressed that they stuck to it and finally she left in a huff. The restaurant got big points from us.

Then we both browsed for a while. It’s really a lovely store and we had fun. Then to DI to get beds and we left Phoenix about 4:00 rejoicing in an early Cibecue arrival. We should know better. I-60 East was closed and we had to take a back road clear out through Apache Junction. It took 40 minutes to go about 10 miles. So now it’s 5:00 and we’re barely on the outskirts of Phoenix and doomed to once again drive Salt River Canyon in the dark.

P.S. We forgot to report on Thursday that the rodent invasion re-occurred requiring drastic measures. We actually discovered them in a new spot. They appear to have attacked the cat food in retaliation for we know not what as far be it from Cue to ever bother one of the poor mice. Now there are traps in 3 locations around the kitchen and the kitchen cupboards have once again been totally cleaned. I actually saw a mouse outside the trailer last week when Robert was golfing. I didn’t scream, faint or die. Amazing what progress we’ve made on the mission.
