Up and at ‘em early and off to Phoenix for yet another furniture run. Bonitos needed a bunk bed, another twin bed and a dresser for their nieces. On our way down we stopped at the dollar store in Globe. As dollar stores go, it was a really good one. They had some great buys. We got Thanksgiving table covers for the branch dinner, Christmas cards ($1.00 a box when the cheapest I could find in Wal-Mart was $7.99 per box for the same number of cards), and foil pans to make my stuffing in. In Phoenix we went to Sam’s Club and bought the rest of the stuff we need for the dinner (paper plates, dessert plates, stuffing mix) and a few things we need for ourselves. Then we ate lunch at Red Lobster and got our walk in at the Fiesta Mall.
When we got back to Cibecue David and Maxine were not home. Keegan, their son, came out and said his parents had gone to Show Low and they told him to tell us just to have Elder Charlton unload the truck and put the stuff in the house. We couldn’t decide if we thought this was hilariously funny or if we were furious. Like Robert could unload 3 mattresses, 3 bunk bed pads, all the hardware and frames for the beds, and a boxed up dresser all by himself. They knew we were bringing this stuff to them. They couldn’t have gone to Show Low a little earlier? They both had the day off because of Veteran’s Day! I was all set to go home and go to bed and leave the furniture for the vultures to steal during the night. Robert had a little better idea. We went to Byron’s, which is just below Bonito’s home, and asked Byron to come help him. Byron is such a jewel. He came right over and it took no time at all to unload the truck. Just as we were leaving, David and Maxine came home. They said, “All done, huh?” and we drove off. Not even a thank you. It took us a full 5 minutes to get over being mad. Takes a lot to really upset us out here any more.
Speaking of the vultures. While we were gone today they stole Cue’s kitty bed. Someone is probably using it for a pillow.
Despite the rumors, I don't live here anymore
