November 7, 2007

We cleaned the house this morning then met Sharon at the turnoff from Hwy 60 about noon. We came back and delivered flyers for homemaking meeting. Sharon went with me to visit with Thelma about the Thanksgiving dinner next week.

We had an early dinner then Sharon and I left about 5:30 to pick up Byron and Juliet. We took them to Show Low for their interview with the Stake President for their recommends. First we went to the grocery with them to get food for homemaking meeting tomorrow because Juliet and her aunt, Jeanette, are doing the food. We finished early so had about half an hour before their appointment. We went to Dairy Queen and got ice cream, then Sharon and I got gas and just talked while we waited for them to finish. They said their interviews went well. Byron was very willing to share the stories of his dreams and it was evident that his testimony is strong. Sharon said it was fun for her to get acquainted with her first Apache couple. She said she can understand how we could develop a deep love for these people. We both enjoyed the evening a lot.

We learned something new about Byron and Juliet. They told us they went to all 4 years of high school in Riverside California at a boarding school. That explains why they are quite a bit more articulate and have a better work ethic than many of the people we know here.

Meanwhile back at the ranch while Sharon and I were enjoying ourselves Robert was having his typical scout experience. When he picked up one of the scouts named Leon he was crying. These boys don’t cry a lot. He told Robert that the police had just picked up his mother and taken her to jail. We don’t why, but Leon was pretty upset and didn’t know when she would be back.
