We really enjoyed these two Elders today. They spent every break they had crocheting. We told them we were going to write about them in the Blog and call it the Teachings of Elder Wahlquist and Elder Armajo. For instance:

• At breakfast we were talking about Fry Bread and Sharon said she didn’t think she could eat it because it’s cooked in Crisco. Elder Armajo said surely just one time won’t kill you and Elder Wahlquist asked him if that’s how he was going to teach the Word of Wisdom from now on. Surely one little cigarette won’t kill you.
• They gave a lesson later in the day and taught this little boy how to pray. As they were leaving the little boy said he knew how to say his prayers now. You just say, “Dear God, Dear Joseph Smith.” So now our Elders are teaching the people to worship Joseph Smith.
• At a birthday party that we all went to they had some drinks poured. Elder Armajo asked what it was but before they answered he took a big drink. It was ice tea. So now we have Elders blatantly breaking the word of wisdom in front of a whole party.

These two are going to be fun, but have to say they’re not the most motivated we’ve had here. They didn’t leave until 11:00 this morning then came back at 12:15 for lunch. At 2:30 Robert finally suggested maybe they could catch a few people before their 3:00 appointment. Then they seemed to stay busy the rest of the afternoon. We ate dinner at 6:30 then they stayed and visited and crochet until 8:30.

The birthday party was for Famisha. She is one year old today. They had delicious Mexican food, the best we’ve had out here. They had a taco casserole, taco salad, tacos, Spanish rice and cake and ICE CREAM. Sharon and I had to walk an extra 30 minutes to get rid of the overabundance of calories. We had a little too much fun at the birthday party.Everyone was really friendly. Sharon took a lot of pictures. It was fun. I didn’t get the invitation until after we went to Show Low Wednesday night so Sharon and I stopped at the Trading Post and bought a little toy for Famisha. Sharon wrapped it in a gift bag and she and Robert put in a pair of shoe and socks and a bib out of the stuff Veda gave us.

Robert didn’t get to spend much time at the birthday party because he had to pick up the scouts for a campout. Leon said his mother got out of jail and was back home. They had 11 scouts go on the campout.

Alma’s mother said that Xena has given her two of her children to raise and has given another one to another family to raise. After the stories Alma has told me about her own mother that wouldn’t be my first choice for someone to raise two of my children.

After the Elders left we just kicked back and watched Evan Almighty.

I want to see some of those pictures! Maybe you or Sharon could post a few of your favorites on the blogs?
