The first part of our day was pretty quiet. Robert wanted to do some studying and I had some time to scrapbook.
Robert had scheduled a counseling appointment with Myrna and her son, Rico. Apparently he’s having some problems. But they didn’t show.
The Elders arrived about 2:00 and at 6:30 they were back here for dinner along with the Bonitos. They came to have taco salads and tell us all about Salt Lake.
They had a great experience there. They said that conference is translated into 88 languages and the church flew in 800 people to do the translating. They also said everyone there made quite a fuss over them. Many people stopped them and asked if they were the Apache team and they talked about how this was the first time there had ever been an Apache translation. Maxine told the Elders the story of the day she was in the temple before they left. She also said how glad she was that they had taken the children to Salt Lake in April. She said that if this was the first time they had been there she would have felt selfish and would have been wishing the whole time the kids could have seen everything. Maybe that’s the reason they had to go in April. The Lord knew that she would need that comfort in order to focus on translating.
They also said that Maxine was the most reluctant of the whole team and she turned out to be the best translator. Maxine said that was because she stopped worrying about it after that day in the temple and just gave it to the Lord. Funny how much more successful our lives are when we do that.
Despite the rumors, I don't live here anymore

What an amazing thing! I am so glad we were able to be a small part of this whole experience.
